АннотацияIn order to determine the most optimal type and characteristics of the electromagnetic field, four types of electromagnetic eƒects on the wilt resistance of cotton were studied. The treatment of seeds with various types of electromagnetic fields leads to an increase in germination and the content of fungi- toxic compounds, phytoalexins, in the tissues of infected cotton seedlings, as well as a decrease in the number of plants with signs of Verticillium wilt. By methods of determining the eƒectiveness of the hypersensitivity reaction, as well as recording changes in intracellular calcium concentration in living cells using fluorescent probes and characteristics of transport of radiolabeled auxin in cotton hypocotyls segments, it was revealed that seed treatment with a pulsed electromagnetic field with a frequency of 16 Hz by magnetic induction of 200–500 nT leads to the highest protective eƒect against the causative agent of Verticillium wilt, and a pattern has been established: the greater the intensity of the electromagnetic field, the less time is needed for seed treatment. The synthesis of phenolic compounds of the gossypol series, phytoalexins, induced by electromagnetic stress of seeds in seedling tissues uninfected by the Verticillium wilt pathogen is characteristic of wilt- resistant varieties, and its absence is characteristic of susceptible cotton varieties.
